BASKETBALL

Introduction:

The TPAAA Men’s Basketball program currently hosts a membership of over 60 participants that include civilians, uniform and alumni personnel. The members engage in several basketball related events and community programs locally and abroad.

Participants of the program have access to recreational or competitive play, as well as, develop their fundamentals through open-gym practice sessions, intramural tournaments, league and community games.
You are invited to join our program to improve on your skills, conditioning and basketball knowledge; but most of all, have fun. If interested, please attend an open-gym session or contact, Marc Madramootoo for more information.

Fall League Champions The TPAAA Men’s Basketball Team competed in the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) Basketball Fall League, which commenced September 2019 and ended in December 2019. The team improved on the previous season’s record, advanced to the final game and were deemed 2019 Champions.

The TPAAA Men’s Basketball Team competed in the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) Basketball Fall League, which commenced September 2019 and ended in December 2019.  The team improved on the previous season’s record, advanced to the final game and were deemed 2019 Champions.

Winter League

The TPAAA Men’s Basketball Team will compete in the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) Basketball Winter League, which commences on January 2020 to spring 2020.

Community Events

Members of the TPAAA Men’s Basketball Program have participated in various community events in 2019 and will continue to do for the remainder of 2020.

The TPAAA Men’s Basketball Team assisted with a fundraiser held by students at Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute to raise funds for those affected by hurricane Dorian in 2019.


On December 8th, 2019, the Team attended the OVO Athletic Centre to assist with a basketball fundraiser hosted by the South Asian community for approximately 50 children.

On December 14th, 2019, members of the Team assisted with a community event (Breakfast with Santa) hosted by staff at, Ellesmere Community Centre.
